Will be leaving for Vietnam in a few days. Have been planning what to see and visit. Due to the very limited time, I think I’ll just go around Hanoi a bit, and of course to Halong Bay. It’s a must, so they said who had been there. I would like to go to Ho Chi Minh City as well, doing a bit of trekking, and take a boat along the Mekong River delta. But these must wait. Hopefully another time.

What I hate most in travelling is packing and sitting still in an airplane. I’m always travelling as light as possible, but still the task of choosing which clothes and shoes and other necessities to take with me is a chore and a bore. And I am almost always restless during the flight. Reading, computer games, or watching movies are not for me, since I cannot really focus on such things during a flight. It’s good that the flight to Vietnam will only take a couple of hours from KL, so I won’t be cooped up for too long in the plane.

You can say that this trip is not really well-planned. It’s more or less spontaneous. I’ve been thinking about going to Vietnam for a couple of years but never really put my mind to it. Then one day suddenly the time seems just right, and everything starts to fall into place.

Hopefully things will turn out well and enjoyable too. I’ll be back with the Vietnam trip report later.
